Dramaturgy
Elisabeth is available as a dramaturg for new play development. She has worked with playwrights and screenwriters on their material in development, serving as a guide and sounding board for their progress.
Directing
Producing
Following a BFA in Theatre Directing from the University of Michigan, Elisabeth has worked as an assistant director on and off-Broadway. Her directing experience includes Columbia, East Harlem Tutorial Program, and upcoming projects to be announced.
Over the years, Elisabeth has used her administrative & creative experience to produce a variety of projects, from theatre productions to education events. She is currently preparing to launch her own theatre company, The Kindling Theater.
Devising
Dramaturgical Research
Elisabeth is most inspired when creating new work that doesn't begin sitting at a computer, but rather in a rehearsal room with a company of artists. She is interested in generating new plays by group-devising with actors and dramaturgs, and sharing co-author credit on the final piece. Many of her favorite dramaturgs have been actors, and embracing this dynamic has resulted in some of Elisabeth's proudest plays, particularly 2076 (more on this project on the Plays page).
As part of her work assisting professional writers in theatre, film, and television, Elisabeth has experience creating thorough dramaturgical research packets. These have included projects for Amazon Studios, Fox Searchlight Pictures, the Public Theater, and Classic Stage Company. Elisabeth is comfortable organizing and presenting information in a way that's most helpful to artists, and undertaking extensive historical or journalistic research.
